What I Know I know what it’s like to be a leader of a group of friends. In my neighborhood, there are lots of kids that are in middle school. I am the oldest, which makes me the leader. There is one friend of mine that is a leader too. I am leader of one section while my friend is a leader of another section. There are no rivalries between our groups because I grew up with them. Most of my group is composed of 7th grade scooters, while my friends group is composed of 8th grader skateboarders. I am the only skateboarder in my group. Over the summer, we would ride over to the store and buy some soda then ride to the park and do tricks and hang out. I would get home around 8pm and eat dinner. We built ramps using bricks and sheets of wood. We all have fun times. We are like a family in a way. We all have each other’s backs. People may experience leadership in different ways, but not like I do.
